Hi guys, it’s Rachell! It’s that time of the month again when I’ll be reviewing Sample Store’s top favourite products!

This time, I’ll be exploring 4 Facial Peels:

1.    Laboratoires FILORGA SLEEP AND PEEL ®

2.    philosophy the micro delivery resurfacing peel

3.    SKIN INC Pure Revival Peel

4.    Saturday Skin Rub-a-Dub Refining Peel Gel

WHAT DO I LOOK FOR IN A FACIAL PEEL?

Apart from being an effective product, I think the entire process should be enjoyable as well, because that actually motivates me to include that product in my skincare routine.

Laboratoires FILORGA SLEEP AND PEEL ®

A fuss-free resurfacing night cream that helps with wrinkles, dullness, imperfections and pores.

A cell renewal “booster” that uses a cocktail of 6 hydroxy-acids to reveal the radiance of your skin. It can even replace a regular scrub with a mechanical action!

The idea of going to sleep with this nocturnal peel on, and waking up knowing your skin is being renewed is really irresistible.

Product is easily applied and absorbed into skin.

Pros:

●     Fuss-free and convenient, no need to wash off after applying.

●     I felt my skin become softer after using it consecutively.

Cons:

●     I actually like the feeling of mechanical scrubbing when I do facial peels, so this cream was a little too soothing for me.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Stars | Retailing at $102 (50ml)

philosophy the micro delivery resurfacing peel

A two-step, in-home peel that smells not only amazing, but has everything I love in a facial peel It resurfaces and rejuvenates sun-damaged, hyperpigmented and ageing skin. This peel also delivers peptides and vitamin c to the skin as it is being exfoliated.

Although this facial peel from philosophy is slightly more time-consuming than the others, the results were really worth it! Plus, I enjoyed the process of watching the vitamin c/peptide resurfacing crystals foam up once I applied the activating gel. Super fun facial peel experience!

Pros:

●     An engaging facial peel that allows you to enjoy an almost spa-like experience.

●     Invigorating citrus fragrance complements the experience.

●     Skin feels a lot smoother after just 1 use.

Cons:

●     You actually need a bit of time to apply this on because it’s two-step. Not overly tedious, but just slightly time-consuming compared to the other facial peels.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Stars | Retailing at $109 (30+30ml)

SKIN INC Pure Revival Peel

A non-abrasive peel that promises to buff away your dead skin cells, revealing bright, renewed skin.

I’m not completely amazed by it because I’ve used similar products from other brands before, but it’s like a basic facial peel that you can’t go wrong with.

Gel melts into liquid upon contact with skin.

‘Eraser Dust’ forms from dead skin cells being exfoliated.

Pros:

●     Convenient to use, upon application, you see the dead skin cells forming like eraser dust on your skin.

Cons:

●     Pricey, considering there are products in the market which are very similar.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Stars | Retailing at $76 (60ml)

Saturday Skin Rub-a-Dub Refining Peel Gel

Similar concept to the SKIN INC Pure Revival Peel, a gel type that melts upon contact with your skin, to gently pick up impurities and dead skin cells. This product also uses natural enzymes and powerful peptides.

The difference is that the Saturday Skin Peel Gel has additional blue micro crystals in it, which actually provides a gentle mechanical scrub feeling that I like in my facial peels.

Contains micro-crystals in gel.

‘Eraser-dust’ from dead skin cells is also formed at the end of exfoliation.

Pros:

●     Convenient to use, upon application, you see the dead skin cells forming like eraser dust on your skin.

●     Has microcrystals in it to help mechanically scrub away dead skin cells, in addition to the enzymes working on your skin.

●     Skin feels smoother after use.

●     Really affordable!

Cons:

●     No complaints!

Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars | Retailing at $35 (75ml)

FINAL VERDICT

Personally, my top pick would be the philosophy micro delivery resurfacing peel because of the overall experience it provides - the fragrance, the engaging steps, and the spa-like feel to it.

It’s definitely a facial peel made for pampering (and thus the price tag that comes along with it).

However, if you’re looking for an affordable, fuss-free facial peel to fit into your busy schedules, you should definitely go for the Saturday Skin Rub-a-Dub Refining Peel Gel that does the job in a flash!

Don’t forget to moisturise your face and feed it with goodness after you do your facial peels!

I hope you guys will like our recommendations, and I’ll see you guys again soon!
