Are face mists just water in a can or is it more than just that? Let's find out from Aylna what she thinks.

I’m a big fan of hydrating mist. I don’t know about you, but I love to cooperate hydrating mist before and after applying makeup. This is because I don’t like my skin feeling dry or too matte after applying makeup, I tend to look for mists that are suitable to spray on even after makeup so that it doesn’t ruin my foundation but helps setting it in and keeping my skin feeling fresh and moist.

PIXI Vitamin Wakeup Mist

This Vitamin Wakeup Mist contains orange blossom with citrus fruit extracts, lavender and arginine. I read online that arginine actually helps to improve blood circulation in the arteries of  the heart and boosting the immune system, which means, this product not only helps with the outer layer of your skin, but also deep within. And a little more facts about this product is that it can acts as a toner before moisturiser, adding hydration and acting as a protective veil after makeup. Because the face mist contains citrus fruit extracts, it helps to refresh and wakes your skin up each time you use it.

Personally, I like to breathe into the mist, but when I did that when trying out this mist, I choked on it. Please do not try that with this mist, because it contains orange and a lot of other citrus fruit extracts, it can be a little choking to inhale. Other than that, I have no complaints in regards of this mist. It works as a refreshing “during the mid-day” kind of mist because it’s like a little perk-me-up energy drink for your skin. And based on its price point, I feel that this product is a steal! Because it contains so many properties that helps with your skin, and able to act as a toner + mist!

And a little fun fact - citrus concentrated mist/toners helps to brighten up your skin tone as well as lighten scars!

Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist

I’m very excited about this face mist! Saturday Skin carries a wide range of skincare products that focus on hydration, which is very much needed here in Singapore. Most of us spent most of our time in an air-conditioned room whether its in the office or at home. Being exposed to that causes dehydrated skin especially if you are somebody like me who rarely drinks water.

I honestly love this product so much! This hydrating face mist is a toner and an essence in one. You can use it as part of your skincare routine, in between cleansing and essence step. It is formulated with concentrated kiwi and grape, which claims to be antioxidant and helps with blocking free radicals. Not only that, it delivers moisture over and under makeup. For me, the most important step is hydrating my skin and I always feel that this face mist helps to lock in the moisture in my skin and minimises the appearance of pores.

Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus - Hydrating Face Mist

Like I always do, I kept the best for the last! The Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus - Hydrating Face Mist is all natural and its plant-based, organic and food-grade. Even their oils are cold-pressed or steam distilled. Let’s talk about the ingredients inside - it contains hibiscus flower petals which is rich in Malic and Citric Acid providing natural exfoliation and speed cell-turn over. This helps with uneven skin tone. Given that a plant has high mucilage content, it is able to help the skin to maintain moisture.

What’s worth talking about is definitely the coconut water that is used to formulate the product. Coconut water is the miracle water for the skin, helping your skin to rehydrate and it helps with skin inflammation that is caused by acne. Lauric acid aid skin infections and combats acne, so if you have acne prone skin, I highly recommend this product to you! It contains witch hazel as well, which is also known for reducing inflammation.

Overall, I really love this product the most because I prefer plant-based product and especially when this product comes with so many benefits. Not only does it moisturises your skin, it helps with acne prone skin. This product is already part of my skincare routine and I will use this excessively during my menses. As you girls know, the dreadful week usually comes with new pimple enemies, and this product really helps in soothing the pimples.
