SAY GOODBYE TO OILY SKIN!

For those struggling with oily and acne-prone skin, we’ve got your back! We’re going to share with you some tips to be looking like your K-pop idol! So here’s a basic guide to control oil production and unclog those pores.

The first step to better skin is to do a double-cleanse every night, and once in the morning. Have an oil-based cleanser to draw out all the oil from your makeup and sunscreen. You’re essentially ridding of all the unwanted stuff that cling onto your skin in the day. Subsequently use a low pH concoction like Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Foam Cleanser for a deeper cleanse. Less acidic formulas can cause breakouts.

Look out for pH-balancing toners to better penetrate deep into your skin which effectively loosens and clears up oil-rich pores. Avoid alcohol-based toners as those will dry out your skin and encourage oil production. A toner is going to allow subsequent applications to seep more easily into the skin. A good option would be Belif’s Ultimate Brightening Toner.

Serums like Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Renewal Serum are an absolute must to leave your skin with a soft and smooth finish. It eliminates pigmentation and also brightens your skin. You may want to also try products like Cathy Doll’s Snail Pore Reducing Serum containing snail mucin as it is very effective in promoting cell regeneration and fade scars.

Pat on some essence to hydrate, strengthen your skin and stay wrinkle-free. Regular application of essences like Biotherm’s Life Plankton Essence will make your skin look plumper and brighter in the long run. Keeping your skin hydrated does wonders to regulate oil production and speed up skin renewal. You may also want to try switching the essences and serums for a sheet mask every evening.

And stand by your moisturiser! A hydrated face reduces the production of oil and breakouts. Look out for non-oil based and non-comedogenic ones as they are less likely to clog pores. Don’t forget to slap on sunscreen before you head outdoors. Get those containing zinc oxide and titanium dioxide for their anti-inflammatory properties, reducing scarring, breakouts and skin damage.
