What every woman should keep in their bag.

Fresh Sugar Punch Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF15

The Promise
A sheer coloured lip balm that moisturises, protects and smooths lips. The key ingredient is sugar, that is a natural humectant that prevents moisture loss. Also contains a blend of botanical oils and vitamins to nourish and protect the lips.

The Verdict This is a winner because of its sun protection properties because you should really be using sunscreen on every single exposed part of your body. And many forget that the lips are just as vulnerable to sun damage as any other part of the skin.

The colour might appear quite bright in the tube, but on the lips, it’s a sheer wash, which helps brighten the complexion instantly.

The only downside is that this Lip Balm melts quite easily in Singapore’s heat and humidity, so don’t leave it in the glove compartment of the car, or in your bag sitting in the sun, you’ll find that it can be a gooey mess, which can make it tricky to use after.

Clinque Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm (in 01 Curviest Caramel)

The Promise
A tinted lip balm that not only gives lips colour but also hydrates lips with Mango and Shea Butters to keep them moisturised and soft.

The Verdict In terms of colour, this is the most pigmented among the three in this list, which makes feel like this could sit on the fence between being a coloured lip balm versus a soft cream lipstick.

My lips felt soft, smooth and supple. It applies really easy, and I’m a big fan of this particular nude shade as it complements my skin tone, and more importantly, does not clash with my newly dyed purpled hair.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (in Hibiscus)

The Promise
Gives lips a soft tinted colour while the combination of botanical waxes and Shea Butter in the formulation promises to give lips 8 hours of moisture.

The Verdict This gives the sheerest colour of the three. If you’re looking for a lip balm that gives you some colour, this might not be the best option.

The botanical waxes in the formulation leaves a slight waxy film on the lips. While they’re useful in preventing moisture loss, I’m not a fan of the waxy feeling it leaves. And unfortunately, if you’ve got really dry lips, this won’t heal them much.
