The Perfect Loose Setting Powders To Get You Through Singapore’s Humid Weather - By Felicia Yeo

Nothing can be as annoying as disappearing makeup, especially after you’ve spent a good 30 minutes or so working on it. These setting powders are your go-to products for making sure your makeup appear more polished, doesn't slide around once that midday oil-slick hits and keep you looking fresh no matter how many hours you spend under the scorching weather.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder

I’m an avid user of loose setting powder cause it helps to combat excess shine and oil for my combination skin. And of course, I was more than excited to try the latest launch by Fenty Beauty, the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder. The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder is a superfine and weightless loose setting powder that aims to create a “filtered” finish. The first thing that caught my attention had to be the gorgeous crystal-like packaging. And the size of the pot’s cap was perfect to swirl my brush on. The formula is lightweight and silky. It’s not one of those loose powder that leaves your skin looking super fair or ashy and powdery. The best thing was that it brightened my skin nicely, giving it a smooth and soft matte look. The product also did a great job in keeping oil at bay. Even after being out in the sun for a few hours, my skin still looked matte. The price is also reasonable considering how much product you get.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Makeup junkies who battled with an oily T-zone would swear by the legendary Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set their makeup. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder has been around for a long time and it has been the all time bestselling loose setting powder in the beauty arena. The finely-milled, silky powder leaves behind a matte, natural-looking finish on my skin for hours. I can barely tell that I’m wearing it. Throughout the day, my T-zone doesn’t look oily or shiny, the loose setting powder is effective in reducing shine. I love the soft smooth matte, airbrushed finish that the powder gives. The loose powder is easily buildable if touch up is required. Neither cakey nor heavy, no creases, doesn’t settle in fine lines and doesn’t budge all day. It just works wonder! I prefer this to the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder as it blended nicely on my skin without much effort. The only downside of this product is that it is insanely expensively but I guess a little will go a long way, you don’t need a lot for your entire face.

IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Pores™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder

The IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Pores™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder is everything you need if you have large pores and want to conceal them. This setting powder has the best texture out of the lot, the powder is the finest. It does help to blur the appearance of pores and my skin became visibly smoothed. It is light is light as air, like a second skin. Like other IT COSMETICS products, I like how the brand formulate their products with ingredients that are beneficial for the skin. In this case, the IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Pores™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder is enriched with a blend of peptides, silk, collagen and antioxidants. Unfortunately, it does leave a white residue behind and my skin look patchy when the powder is not blended properly. Compared to the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder and Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, the pot for the IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Pores™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder is significantly smaller which makes it tedious for me to pick up the product using a brush but it makes it easy to take along whilst the other loose powder products might be a little too bulky.
