Are These Face Serums Buzzworthy? - By Dr Harold Ma
Lastly, Dr Harold Ma will share if these face serums are worth investing.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Touted as one of brand’s (oldest) bestsellers, this gel-like serum has been synonymous with anti-ageing as far back as I can remember. Thanks to its oil-free nature, skin does not feel greasy nor does it leave any oily residue. Pleasant smelling and textured, it is designed to work specifically at night when we sleep. Skin felt radiant the next morning but no visible effects anti-ageing wise.

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic ©
Pleasant smelling with a good texture, this multi award winning serum has been lauded for its superior antioxidant benefits. With a high concentration of pure vitamin C, it protects against stressors and has anti-aging benefits. Upon application, the serum is readily absorbed and skin felt smooth. Regular use did help improve overall skin texture and fine lines. Due to its high potency of ingredients, this antioxidant may not be suitable for sensitive or problematic skin types.

Biotherm Blue Therapy Accelerated Serum
Claimed to be a powerful anti-aging skin care formula, which works on your skin cells to treat aging from the root cause, this pleasant scented serum was calming and moisturising upon application. Easily absorbed and light-weight on first touch and upon application, skin felt smooth and soft the next morning. Pores felt slightly more refined but in terms of anti-ageing claims, no immediate visible improvement was seen.

Clarins Double Serum
Rich in plant extracts, this dual-chamber system consistently delivers hydric and anti-ageing formulations into one light-weight almost liquid serum that is easily absorbed and instantly calming. Moisturising enough to use on its own or before a day cream, skin was visibly softer, smoother and plumped up. Whether or not it does its job at halting the onset of wrinkles and fine lines remains to be seen.
