5 Moisturising Tips for Radiant Looking Skin
Moisturising is the key to healthy and radiant looking skin, but don’t expect your moisturiser to work its magic after slapping it on your face. Here’s how you should moisturise your skin for the best results.
1. Limit Your Time In The Bathroom
The longer you spend in the bathroom, the higher possibility that your skin will lose its moisture. Long and especially hot showers strip skin of its moisture and wash away its protective oil. It’s the best to keep your shower within 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Apply Moisturiser Immediately After Showering
The best time to apply moisturiser is within 2 to 3 minutes after your shower. Don’t forget to keep your face slightly damp! This magic 3 minute window helps to lock-in moisture more effectively.
3. Switch Moisturisers According To The Different Climate
If you’re traveling, make sure you bring the moisturiser with the right formula. Heading to somewhere with a humid climate? Get a lightweight formula moisturiser like a water-based one. If you’re going to somewhere with a dry climate, then opt for a heavy duty one, for instance an oil-based moisturiser.
4. Hydrate Your Skin With A Humidifier
Turn on a humidifier every night to moisturise the air in your bedroom. If you are not looking to invest in a humidifier, create a makeshift one by hanging a wet towel in your room. The wet towel will bring moisture into the air and hydrate your skin while you’re sleeping. Placing a small cup of water by your bedside works too!
5. Use Olive Oil
The kitchen staple is packed with moisturising and antioxidant properties, making it perfect to be used as a moisturiser. If you’re suffering from a sunburn, olive oil can help to soothe your skin!
