1. To Lighten Acne Scars, Try Turmeric Mask



Turmeric is a common spice that can be easily found in everyone’s kitchen. But using this as a beauty ingredient? Turmeric contains both antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which is beneficial for the skin. The ending result? Glowy, soothed skin with reduced scarring!

What do you need:
Flour, honey, turmeric and milk.

Directions:
Mix ingredients together to form a paste. Apply and leave onto the skin for 20 minutes. Rinse face with warm water.

2. To Minimise Pores, Try Rice Water Toner



After rinsing your rice for cooking, don’t drain the water down the sink. Instead, incorporate it into your beauty routines. Rice water contains antioxidants, and minerals such as Vitamin E and Vitamin B, these helps to minimise the appearance of pores, as well as soothe and brighten your skin.

What do you need:
Rice water and empty spray bottle.

Directions:
Spritz on cotton pads and use as toner after cleansing.

What do you need:
Cucumber slices, ziplock bag and cotton pads.

Directions:
Juice the cucumber and soak the cotton pads. Pack them in a ziplock bag and leave it overnight. Make sure to thaw before use, and place it over your eyes for a few minutes and enjoy that maximum cooling effect.

4. To Minimise The Risk of Razor Burn, Shave with Coconut Oil



Don’t waste your money on various waxing appointments or buy shaving products. Your next favourite and only go-to? Coconut oil - (organic or oil). Coconut oil is an excellent substitute as a natural exfoliant. Containing Vitamin E, that will naturally smooth and soothe any bumps left behind from shaving.

What do you need:
Coconut oil (organic/hair oil can suffice).

Directions:
Apply and rub preferred amount of coconut oil onto skin and then start shaving.

5. To Remove Whiteheads, Try Lemon Juice



Having a T-zone that is always oily with whiteheads? Don’t waste time finding spot treatments when you have one in your kitchen. Lemon contains astringent properties that help to reduce excess sebum on your skin, leaving a smoother surface. However, never apply pure lemon juice on skin!

What do you need:
Freshly squeezed lemon juice, water and cotton pads.

Directions:
Combine lemon juice with water in the ratio 1:2, dip cotton pads and pat over affected areas (or use as spot treatments).
