BB and CC Creams are overachieving multitaskers in our beauty and makeup arena that go beyond brightening, colour-correcting, moisturising and anti-aging. Instead of applying moisturiser and foundation individually, probably you can consider to invest in one good BB or CC Cream to save time and money! These are our top picks.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+

Developed with plastic surgeons, award-winning IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+ is probably the best-selling CC+™ Cream in Sephora that is highly raved by beauty influencers and users. Ever since I started using this beauty miracle, it helped to streamline my skincare and makeup regimen, this has got to be the best multi-tasker. I skipped the steps of moisturising, sun protection, priming and concealing. The highly pigmented yet ultralight formula effectively brightens my skin, reduces the look of pores, redness and dark circles. It got really solid coverage! It goes on my skin smoothly without using a primer and doesn’t crease after a long day. Infused with an advanced anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and antioxidants that work in harmony, the CC+™ Cream claims to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and pores to create a more radiant, supple, and flawless-looking complexion, so I can’t wait to see the results after using it in the long run. The only downside is that the CC+™ Cream gives off a really dewy look after application which I don’t really like so I’ll usually set my makeup with a setting powder for a matte look. Otherwise, my face will appear to be oily during midday.

Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF30

I was really looking forward to try the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF30 after I did a swatch in the store, the product left a matte finish on my hand which I love it! And I love the brand’s commitment to formulate their products without Parabens, Mineral Oil, Phthalates, Triclosan, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Gluten. This is an all-in-one BB Cream, Primer and Sunscreen that can be worn alone or under your foundation. I absolutely adore the smooth matte finish, it is super lightweight, and has a barely there feel. However, the coverage is pretty sheer, it is impossible to conceal smell blemishes with this product alone. It’s suitable for those who prefer a lighter coverage. I probably used this product more as a primer than as a BB cream. The BB Tinted Treatment works exceptionally great as a primer, it evens out my skin tone, gives my face an extra smooth texture, helps to keep oil at bay and reduces the appearance of pores. This is my go-to primer now!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Perfector

The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Perfector claimed to be the new generation of perfecting skin tint that gives skin a soft glowing veil, no filter needed. The buildable and lightweight exclusive formula unifies the irregularities of skin and discreetly blurs imperfections while bringing forth light and radiance. The blurring skin tint does blur away pores and it conceal rednesses effectively. Despite the thinner consistency, I would say that the coverage is pretty decent, it is easily buildable and blendable. The finish is something that is in between matte and dewy, it doesn’t give the ‘oily face’ look. The weightless product makes me feel like I wasn’t wearing anything on my skin. It’s awesome for those who want something that feels more natural than foundation without sacrificing coverage. Not forgetting it comes with SPF25 that protects the skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays.

Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion Intense

Sulwhasoo is the global luxury brand that conveys Asian beauty beyond Korea and completes harmonious beauty based on traditional Korean herbs and formulas inspired by Asian philosophy and wisdom of harmony and balance that caters to different skincare needs. The Perfecting Cushion Intense is an anti-aging cushion that harnesses the treasured red pine extract for unrivalled skin resilience combined with plum blossoms extract for excellent anti-oxidant properties. Compared to the other BB Cushions that I’ve tried, the formula of this felt a little bit thicker. However, it blended very easily giving a naturally even-toned and radiant finish - the right amount of dewiness without looking too shiny. In spite of that, I still sweep on a light layer of setting powder to minimise midday shine. This cushion has a medium coverage which helps to conceal mild blemishes and it masks the pores without the help of any concealer. The lasting power is decent and I experienced no creasing throughout the day. The Perfecting Cushion Intense also comes with an impressive sun protection of SPF50+/PA+++.

HERA BLACK CUSHION SPF 34/PA++

Recently launched in Singapore, Korea’s top-performing beauty brand (based on Nielsen Korea’s 2016 Brand Power Index), HERA has been widely known for their BB Cushions. The HERA BLACK CUSHION SPF 34/PA++ is a luxury BB Cushion that claimed to provide a full coverage yet lightweight texture for a smooth, long-lasting and non-sticky matte finish. I’m not a fan of Korean BB cushions as most of them offer dewy coverage for the skin which I didn’t really fancy as it make my combination skin look really greasy during midday. Hence, I was really excited to try this BB cushion that claimed to provide a semi-matte finish. I applied a thin layer on my face and it felt very light and comfortable. The finish was natural and it does live up to the claim of providing users a non-sticky semi-matte finish. The product gives a decent coverage that brightens up my skin and reduces the appearance of pores. On areas which I require more coverage like my under eye, the BB cushion is easily buildable to conceal dark circles and blemishes. I love how it left my combination skin feeling fresh and smooth for long hours before my T-zone starts to get a little oily. The formula holds up pretty well in our hot and humid weather.
