4 Anti-Aging Serums To Help You Turn Back Time - By Vanessa Chia
The answer to getting way a smooth, radiant and youthfully-plump complexion.
LANCÔME Advanced Génifique
The Promise: Dubbed “The Little Black Bottle”, this fresh and lightweight serum is infused with millions of probiotic fractions that have been obtained through a unique biotechnology process of fermentation, fragmentation and filtration. These ingredients work to strengthen skin’s resilience from within, boost its barrier function, promote collagen and elastin production, refine skin texture and give complexion a radiant glow.
The Verdict: I used it as instructed for seven days straight and I’m happy to say that there was definitely a difference. My skin was subtly glowing and it looked plumped and supple. I remember using the first generation of the Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate, so I was curious to see how it’s improved since.
The unique applicator also delivers the right amount of product each and every time, so there’s no need to second-guess how much you need. The texture is lightweight, absorbs well and leaves no sticky finish behind.

su:m37 Secret Repair Concentrated Serum
The Promise: Contains naturally ferments together with botanical extracts, this anti-aging serum promises to banish fine lines while restoring skin’s suppleness for a youthful complexion. The secret lies in its 8,000-year-old Georgian fermentation technique and iconic Royal Mastic ResinTM that works within the skin to restore its elasticity to renew skin’s firmness and refine its texture at the same time.
The Verdict: Not the most lightweight of serums, and even though the packaging states that it’s a gel-type texture, I found it to be more like a slightly thicker lotion. But you don’t need much. But to help the product absorb well, I usually use an essence prior, and that works well for me.
Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this as my complexion looked more radiant after just one use.
The light citrus scent also makes using this serum a pleasure daily.

IT COSMETICS No. 50 Serum™ Anti-Aging Collagen Veil Primer
The Promise: A multi-tasking, hydrating primer and serum in one, it contains more than 50 ingredients from nourishing botanicals and fruit and plant enzymes to antioxidants and vitamins. Together these protect against free radical damages to prevent premature aging, keeping skin healthy and youthful.
The Verdict: More of a primer than serum per say, so I tend to use this in the mornings to help with my makeup application. With my slightly oily skin type, I actually skipped my usual serum and moisturiser, and used this right after my essence. Surprisingly, it held up quite well and my skin did not feel dry or tight. As a serum, I’m still not quite convinced, but as a makeup prep, it does the job.
When paired with the brand’s Your Skin But Better CC Cream, this works well as it helps the base makeup adhere better and last longer.

SKIN INC Vitamin A Serum
The Promise: Said to help even out the skin tone, brightening a tired and dull complexion and even lighten the appearance of dark under-eye circles. Can be used alone or mixed with other Skin Inc serums for a holistic treatment plan.
The Verdict: On its own, I personally feel that it could be so much better. Also, with its super lightweight texture, it absorbs really fast, which makes me wonder if I’ve used enough. But the good thing is that it can be used even under the eyes to help lighten dark circles. While my dark circles are still apparent, I think it has made a slight difference as my eyes do not appear as tired as they used to these days.
