Facial mists are perfect for giving skin a hydration boost when needed!

Pixi Vitamin Waking Mist

The Promise:
A revitalising mist that awakens the senses and refreshes the skin with citrus fruit extracts, Orange Blossom water and Lavender.

The Verdict: The zesty citrus scent is a great way to wake up in the morning. I prefer to use it as a toner to hydrate and prep the skin before following with the rest of my skincare (serum, eye cream, moisturiser and sunscreen). The hydrating effects isn’t very strong unfortunately, so drier skins will definitely need something more intensive.

Sadly, I’m also not a fan of the spray nozzle on this as the droplets come out quite large and can be quite wet and dribbly if you spray this too close to the face.

But its travel-friendly size (the bottle is only 80ml), so it is you can put in your bag or take it on a flight for instant skin hydration anytime, anywhere.

Overall Rating: 3/5 Stars | Retailing at $22 (80ml)

Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist

The Promise:
An essence and toner in one, this multi-purpose mist hydrates and nourishes the skin while protecting the skin from free radical damages thanks to its antioxidant-rich formula.

The Verdict: A possible toner replacement, it soothes and hydrates the skin instantly. The fine mist settles on the skin comfortably and is absorbed quickly, and doesn’t leave skin feeling tacky, which is perfect for Singapore’s humidity.

Helps my serum and lotion absorb better too.

Used it at night and despite sleeping in an air-conditioned room, my skin felt relatively soft, except for the cheek area that felt a little parched, when I woke.

Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars | Retailing at $48 (130ml)

Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus — Hydrating Face Mist

The Promise:
A blend of coconut water, hibiscus flower petals and rose extract, it hydrates and softens the skin, leaving it supple and smooth.

The Verdict: My absolute favourite among the three. The subtle floral scent is comforting and the fine mist settles evenly on the skin when applied. I preferred to use this as a toner replacement after cleansing and before serum, and it was hydrating enough for my combination skin type, even when sleeping in an air-conditioned room.

When I woke, my skin still felt soft and smooth, and not tight, which was a good sign of its good hydrating properties.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Stars | Retailing at $50 (120ml)
